What do you do when you’ve made the highest-grossing movie of all time (Titanic)? You break your own record which James Cameron did with AVATAR. With the widest 3D and IMAX release, AVATAR became the first movie worldwide to cross the $2 billion mark and collected ₹12927 Crores worldwide.
The movie was 40% live action and 60% CGI. And some CGI Scenes took an average of 47 hours to render, which is why the film took 4 years to complete.
The teaser of AVATAR has been among the most viewed trailers in the history of film marketing. The Coca-Cola company collaborated with Fox to launch a worldwide marketing campaign to promote the film.
Don’t let your jaw drop to the floor, but the film is one of the most expensive ever made – with a price tag of $280 million and this is not the end, the ‘Avatar’ sequels will be the most expensive movies of all time.
Estimates put the cost of marketing of the film at about $150 million. Avatar feels like an experience designed to convert the skeptics.
